Last year, ASF served over 200 of our Atlanta nursing-home Veterans in 25 sessions.  These therapeutic, music workshops help ease pain and isolation with the healing power of music. A Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) along with a professional musician, working as a volunteer, lead each on-site session.  The 60-minute sessions include live music (guitar and bass) as well as percussion instruments that Veterans play during the songs.  Mr. H., a Vietnam Veteran pictured below, is our vocal solo on Sittin’ on the Dock of a Bay and House of the Rising Sun.

We also launched our “VR at the VA program” which brings worship music to Our Veterans by placing them on the alter with a 30-person live choir.  Since some cannot get to church anymore, we bring the church to them.
